Job summary

Save the Children in the United States is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to develop and implement education plans for infants and toddlers. You will lead classroom activities with a co-Teacher, ensure program quality, and partner with families to support children’s growth, reporting to the Center Director or Manager of Education & Inclusion.

• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Strong communication and collaboration with internal and external teams.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of the Head Start/Early Head Start program purpose.
• Commitment to keeping information confidential and protecting children.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans for infants and toddlers.
• Lead child development activities with support from aides and volunteers.
• Collaborate with a co-Teacher to manage day-to-day classroom operations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Engage families and build partnerships to support learning at home.
• Maintain accurate records and confidentiality.
• Document observations and manage portfolios for each child.
