Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Odessa, Texas, seeks an IDEA Early Childhood Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction for Prekindergarten through Grade 2 under the lead teacher.

You will facilitate small-group instruction, provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, and help cultivate joyful learning environments. This grant-funded role is 100% on allowable activities outlined in the Title II Part A program.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• Experience: 1+ year working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and instructional practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under guidance of classroom teachers.
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the lead teacher so all students access grade-level learning.
• Facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups based on data and planning.
• Monitor student learning and provide feedback and support.
• Communicate students' progress weekly with students and families.
• Implement a consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
