IDEA Public Schools is hiring an Early Childhood Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction for Prekindergarten through Grade 2, collaborating with lead teachers and delivering small-group as well as targeted interventions. The role emphasizes supporting a love of learning and student mastery in a joyful classroom environment.

The position is grant-funded (Title I Part A) with benefits including family leave, tuition reimbursement, and mental health support.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required or bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
• Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting
• Basic knowledge of early childhood development and instructional practices

Responsabilités

• Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teachers
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the direction of the lead teacher, ensuring all students can access grade-level learning
• Actively facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups based on student data and teacher planning
• Monitor student learning and needs during instruction and provide feedback and support
• Communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis
• Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus-wide initiatives
• Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment
• Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families
• Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs
• Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
• Additional responsibilities may include after-school tutoring or Saturday school
