Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction for Prekindergarten–Grade 2 under the lead teacher’s direction. You will facilitate small-group learning, provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, and help create joyful, engaging classrooms where all students thrive.

The role is grant-funded (Title I Part A) with no guaranteed ongoing employment beyond the grant.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• Experience: 1+ year working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under the direction of classroom teachers.
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the direction of the lead teacher, ensuring all students can access grade-level learning.
• Actively facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups based on student data and teacher planning.
• Monitor student learning and needs during instruction and provide feedback and support.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
