Job summary

SparkJoy ABA, in partnership with Finni Health, is seeking high-energy Behavior Technicians to provide ABA therapy to children with autism in clients’ homes in Shelby, OH. The role offers 20–40 hours per week with part-time and full-time options and pays $17–$22 per hour, depending on experience and certification status.

You will lead play sessions, teach through action, collect progress data, and collaborate with supervising BCBAs.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience working with children (daycare, camp, teaching, etc.).
• Background check required to protect clients and families.
• Passing RBT certification within 90 days of hire is required (we help you study and cover the cost).
• 40-hour Behavior Technician training is preferred but not required to interview.

Responsibilities

• Be a Play Leader: 1:1 in-home sessions to engage children and help them reach goals.
• Teach through action using high-movement methods to develop communication, social, and daily living skills.

Compensation: $17.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience and certification status)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am-4pm for full-time or 12pm-4pm for part-time!

Your Role:

• Be a Play Leader: Work 1:1 with children in their homes. You aren’t just “monitoring”—you are actively playing, moving, and engaging a child to help them meet their goals.

• Teach Through Action: Use creative, high-movement methods to teach communication, social cues, and daily living skills.

• Data & Collaboration: Collect progress data and collaborate with supervising BCBAs to ensure the child is thriving.

• Support Families: Build trust with parents through consistent, upbeat communication and in-home support.

Work Environment:

This role operates exclusively in the client’s home environment. You must feel comfortable working inside client homes and visiting neighborhoods within the assigned Shelby territory.

What You Bring:

• The “Spark”: You are naturally outgoing, energetic, and comfortable being high-energy to keep a child engaged and learning.

• Experience: 1+ year of experience working with children (daycare, camp counselor, teaching, coaching, or similar) is required.

• Reliability: You must have reliable transportation to travel to client homes in the Shelby area.

• Commitment to Growth: Passing RBT Certification within 90 days of hire is required (we will help you study and cover the cost!).

• Training: Proof of completion of a 40-hour Behavior Technician training course is preferred but not required to interview.
