Job summary

City of Austin's Austin Water seeks a Graduate Engineer A to support design and compliance efforts in water reuse programs. Under direct supervision of a Professional Engineer, you will perform routine assignments toward licensure as a professional engineer.

You will assist in preparing design drawings, developing proposals and design criteria, conducting field inspections, analyzing data, and preparing technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering program.
• Experience in water/wastewater treatment engineering preferred.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and read specifications.
• Strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design drawings and calculations under supervision.
• Develop proposals and preliminary/final design criteria.
• Prepare cost estimates for budgets and contracts.
• Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to exchange information.
