Job summary

Austin Water seeks an Engineer A for the Onsite Water Reuse Program in Austin. You will design, plan, and oversee engineering work for construction, maintenance, and alterations of water facilities and systems.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Engineering, four years of experience, and Texas PE license or eligibility within six months. Preferred experience includes water reuse facilities, field inspections, and cost estimation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and four years of engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas or eligible within six months.
• Knowledge of civil, environmental, or related engineering concepts.
• Experience with water and wastewater systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, evaluates, and provides improvement recommendations with preliminary and final designs and design criteria.
• Develops cost estimates and engineering and feasibility reports for projects.
• Prepares final plans, specifications, and coordinates work of contractors and utilities.
• Performs field inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Writes technical specifications for construction contracts.
