Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry‑level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This role offers early‑career candidates the chance to apply engineering skills to sustainable water projects and grow within a dynamic team.

Responsibilities include site assessments, design development, water quality analyses, and reporting, with access to ArcGIS, Fathom, SWMM, CADD and Excel. Travel is 10% or less, and a bachelor’s in related field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years travel; domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support site assessments, field investigations, and project studies.
• Assist with design development and adjust design parameters based on project requirements and field findings.
• Perform water quality analyses, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and other engineering analyses.
• Prepare technical reports, project documentation, presentations, and other deliverables for client meetings and industry conferences.
• Use tools such as ArcGIS, Fathom, SWMM, CADD, Excel to support project design and analysis.
• Participate in fieldwork and construction management activities, providing exposure to projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
