Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry‑level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. You will support planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater facilities, pipelines, and related infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have a Civil/Environmental/Chemical engineering background and are eager to grow technical skills in a collaborative team. Travel up to 10% may be required as projects span multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support site assessments, field investigations, and project studies.
• Assist with design development and adjust design parameters based on project requirements and field findings.
• Perform water quality analyses, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and other engineering analyses.
• Prepare technical reports, project documentation, presentations, and other deliverables for client meetings and industry conferences.
• Use tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software to support project design and analysis.
• Office and in‑field coordination to support regional lead service line rehabilitation projects.
• Participate in fieldwork and construction management activities, providing exposure to projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
