Job summary

HRG, an employee-owned national consulting engineering firm, seeks early career Civil Staff Engineers for our State College, PA office. You will contribute to transportation, municipal, water resources, and land development projects, supporting engineers and managers with drafting, design, and analyses.

Ideal candidates have a BSCE (ABET-accredited) with E.I.T. preferred, and 0–2 years’ relevant internship experience in engineering firms. Travel and on-site observations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), preferably from an ABET-accredited program
• E.I.T. certification preferred
• 0–2 years’ experience may include: Subdivision, Municipal Engineering, Stormwater Management, Water Distribution and Treatment Systems, Wastewater, Hydraulics, On-Lot Systems, Environmental Assessment, Traffic Signalization, Traffic studies/analyses, Intersection improvements, Parking facilities, Highway/roadway safety design

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) in design/drafting capacity
• Perform basic calculations
• Conduct on-site construction observation of work in progress
• Prepare plans and profile drawings utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Review project design manuals for specifications
• Assist in preparation of drainage, stormwater, erosion and sedimentation control, and other reports for permits and approvals
