Job summary

Signers National is seeking an experienced Excess and Surplus Lines Package Underwriter to evaluate, price and manage specialty accounts. The role emphasizes tailoring terms, conditions, and pricing to profitable non-standard business, in collaboration with producers.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of Property & Casualty E&S underwriting, solid knowledge of rating, forms, and coverages, and proven ability to build strong relationships with agents and insureds. CPCU/AU designations are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of Property & Casualty E&S underwriting experience
• Strong knowledge of insurance rating, forms and coverages
• Ability to make timely decisions with appropriate information and consultation; proven ability to build relationships with agents and insureds
• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team to drive results

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new non-standard business submissions for appetite acceptability, proper pricing, and profitability
• Rate, quote, and bind coverage on new and renewal business with producer partners
• Maintain underwriting files and prepare reports and presentations
• Act as a liaison between departments including accounting, claims and loss control
• Approve and issue endorsement requests per underwriting guidelines
• Drive multi-line sales with other underwriters/departments
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external producer partners
• Ensure terms and conditions meet regulatory requirements
• Other duties as assigned
