Job summary

AXA XL in the United States seeks a Claims Specialist to evaluate and manage complex Commercial E&O claims, including Public Entity, Miscellaneous Professional Liability and Entertainment matters. You will work with the Claims Manager and underwriters to move files toward resolution.

The role emphasizes collaboration with external counsel, cost-efficient strategies, and proactive risk assessment. You will coach colleagues, monitor budgets, and produce reporting while upholding AXA XL's claims

Qualifications

• JD or bachelor's degree in claims handling, legal practice or related field.
• Experience handling Professional Liability claims and/or practicing law.
• Insurance adjuster licenses or ability to obtain after starting.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage Commercial E&O claims with strategy and adherence to guidelines.
• Evaluate and manage complex claims with litigation management and coverage analysis.
• Collaborate with leadership on large losses and engage external vendors when needed.
• Coordinate with external counsel to develop cost-efficient litigation strategies.
• Manage claim-related expenses and participate in QA processes.
• Identify improvements and help embed new practices across the team.
• Support underwriting with policy reviews and risk assessments.
• Communicate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality client service.
• Produce internal reporting and monitor liability and coverage trends.
• Mentor and coach less experienced colleagues.
