Job summary

AXA XL in the United States is seeking a Claims Manager, Environmental P&C, to lead a team handling complex environmental, auto/transportation, and general liability claims. You will set strategy, oversee coverage analysis, and mentor a team of claims professionals.

Reporting to the Head of Primary Casualty Claims, Americas, you will partner with Underwriting, Actuarial, Legal and external counsel to deliver superior claims service while controlling costs and elevating technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising complex environmental, auto/transportation, and general liability claims.
• Ability to develop claim strategies and negotiate resolutions.
• Strong leadership and talent development skills.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of multi-state claim regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Environmental P&C claims professionals for complex exposures.
• Oversee coverage analysis, liability evaluation, reserving, and litigation strategy.
• Provide technical guidance on complex coverage matters with counsel.
• Manage claim audits and ensure internal controls compliance across the team.
• Use data analytics to communicate trends to leadership and Underwriting.
• Partner with Underwriting on trends, endorsements, renewals, and BD activities.
• Deliver excellent customer service to policyholders and brokers.
• Set expectations, coach, and develop talent, and support succession planning.
• Identify opportunities for process, data, or training improvements.
