Job summary

AXA XL in the United States seeks a Claims Specialist – Design Professional to manage professional liability claims for architects and engineers across multiple jurisdictions. You will review matters, set timely reserves, and work with defense counsel to pursue cost-effective resolutions that protect our insureds and AXA XL.

You'll coordinate with regional practice leaders, brokers and insureds, maintain thorough claim files, and participate in marketing activities and public speaking as needed,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.
• Intermediate level professional liability claims-handling experience.
• Licensing: Insurance adjuster licenses for all states requiring licenses, or willingness to obtain.
• Proactive task management with ability to prioritize multiple streams.
• Robust analytical and technical skills for complex claims.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage Design Professional liability claims across multiple jurisdictions.
• Review coverage, develop resolution strategies, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Partner with defense counsel on cost-efficient litigation strategies.
• Evaluate settlement value and negotiate claims within authority.
• Coordinate communications with clients, brokers, reinsurers, vendors.
• Ensure documentation in claim files and follow guidelines.
• Maintain relationships with insureds and brokers; review contracts for insurability.
• Participate in marketing and public speaking activities.
