Job summary

Qualifications

• JD or bachelor’s degree in claims handling, law, or related field.
• Experience handling professional liability claims or practicing law.
• Required insurance adjuster licenses or ability to obtain promptly.
• Strong analytical judgment for litigation and claims resolution.
• Effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage assigned Commercial E&O claims, setting resolution strategies with support from Claims management and ensuring files comply with guidelines.
• Evaluate and manage complex claims within authority, applying litigation management and coverage analysis.
• Collaborate with Claims Managers and Practice Leaders on large losses and engage external vendors accordingly.
• Partner with retained external counsel to develop cost-efficient litigation strategies for complex claims.
• Manage claim-related expenses and participate in Quality Assurance review processes.
• Identify process improvements and support short- and long-term initiatives across the team.
• Coordinate communications with underwriting, brokers, reinsurers and vendors to deliver high-level client service.
• Produce internal reporting and monitor emerging liability and coverage trends.
