Job summary

AXA XL in Hartford, CT seeks a Claims Specialist to evaluate and manage complex Commercial E&O claims, including Public Entity and Entertainment matters. You will work with Claims Manager and Underwriting to drive proactive, effective outcomes for AXA XL and clients.

Responsible for strategy, litigation management, external counsel coordination, and coaching across teams in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high client service standards.

Qualifications

• JD, bachelor’s degree and/or relevant professional experience in claims handling or related field.
• Experience handling Professional Liability claims and/or practicing law.
• Required insurance adjuster licenses, or ability to obtain promptly after starting.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage assigned Commercial E&O claims, setting resolution strategies.
• Evaluate and manage complex claims with litigation management and coverage analysis.
• Collaborate with Practice Leaders on large losses and engage external vendors as needed.
• Partner with retained counsel to develop cost-efficient litigation strategies.
• Manage claim-related expenses and participate in QA reviews.
• Identify process improvements and support new AXA XL practices across the team.
• Support underwriters with policy review, participate in external marketing and business development.
