Job summary

AXA XL in the United States is seeking a Claims Manager, Environmental P&C, to lead a team responsible for complex environmental, auto/transportation, and general liability claims. You will partner with Claims leadership, Underwriting, Actuarial, Legal, and external partners to set strategy, control costs, and deliver superior service.

Reporting to the Head of Primary Casualty Claims, Americas, you will develop talent, manage performance, and drive continuous improvement while upholding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Extensive experience supervising complex environmental, auto/transportation, and general liability claims.
• Strong knowledge of insurance coverage principles and claim handling.
• State adjuster licenses required; CPCU/AIC/ARM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Environmental P&C claims professionals handling complex, high‑exposure claims.
• Oversee coverage analysis, liability evaluation, reserving, litigation strategy, and cost control.
• Provide technical guidance on complex coverage matters with internal and external counsel.
• Monitor claims audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and standards.
• Use data analytics to identify trends and inform underwriting and leadership decisions.
