Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer - Anchor to lead development of our eCommerce microservices platform using Java and cloud‑native tech. You will design, build, and deploy scalable microservices supporting digital customer experiences.

You will work with Ford IT teams to ensure high availability, security, and performance, and collaborate with product owners to drive business value while adhering to best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; 5+ years IT experience.
• 5+ years developing scalable RESTful services using Java/Spring for e‑commerce/digital experiences.
• 2+ years with cloud tech (GCP/AWS) and real‑time integrations (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• 1+ year developing Python data pipelines and AI‑driven automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of eCommerce microservices platform.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable front end and backend services.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of the platform.
• Review designs and support system integrators with Ford IT teams.
• Document system information flow and align with business value metrics.
• Collaborate with product owners to identify value and prioritize work.
• Support enterprise objectives with cross‑functional collaboration.
