Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for eCommerce to lead the software engineering delivery organization behind Ford.com’s vehicle purchase experience. The role oversees multiple Scrum teams delivering modern frontend experiences in React and Next.js, ensuring high-quality, scalable digital purchase journeys at scale.

You will partner with Product, Design, Architecture, and platform teams to translate business priorities into executable roadmaps and grow the leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field required.
• Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Computer Science, or related) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Engineering Managers, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development to build a strong, capable management bench.
• Oversee end-to-end software delivery across multiple Scrum teams supporting online vehicle purchase capabilities, ensuring predictable, high-quality releases aligned with product roadmaps.
• Partner with Product Management and Design leadership to translate business objectives into actionable engineering plans and sprint commitments.
• Drive Agile delivery excellence across teams, including sprint planning, backlog health, velocity, and predictability, while removing impediments to team flow.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, frontend architecture patterns, and best practices for React/Next.js development to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Partner with Architecture and platform/backend teams to ensure frontend capabilities integrate with backend services supporting the purchase funnel.
• Monitor team and delivery health metrics and address risks to timelines or quality.
• Champion talent strategy, including hiring, onboarding, skills development, and succession planning.
• Foster culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across Scrum teams.
• Collaborate with UX, QA, Security, and Compliance to ensure secure, accessible, and customer-friendly experiences.
• Communicate delivery status, risks, and dependencies clearly to senior leadership.
