Job summary

Ford Motor Company is hiring for a Senior Software Engineer in our EVDD team, shaping the connected vehicle platform. You will design, build, and operate cloud-native microservices at scale, power real-time data streams, and collaborate with product teams in an agile setting.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, modern tech stack (Java/Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka), and strong emphasis on quality, performance, and reliability across multi-cloud environments (AWS/GCP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, and operating cloud-based platforms.
• Core tech stack: Java and Spring Boot (5+ years).
• Cloud-native architectures (AWS or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Event-driven data systems with Kafka and databases (PostgreSQL).
• DevOps/CI-CD proficiency (Jenkins, GitHub, ArgoCD, SonarQube).
• Experience with TDD and API performance/load testing.

Responsibilities

• Architect and code: design, build, and support cloud platform components and APIs powering Ford’s connected vehicle ecosystem.
• Own end-to-end delivery from design to deployment and production operations on AWS/GCP and Kubernetes.
• Scale and optimize: build high-performance, resilient microservices handling real-time data streams.
• Drive engineering excellence: champion clean code, TDD, robust API design, and load testing.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Monitor and maintain: proactive monitoring, alerts, and SLAs.
