Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a dedicated E-commerce Associate for our Oakland thrift store. This full-time position offers a benefit-eligible role with an hourly wage of $17.34 and opportunities to grow within the retail team.

You will manage online listings, ensure product quality, and support customers while contributing to our mission of Do The Most Good in the local community.

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.
Demonstrated competency in skill area as indicated by verifiable training and/or experience.
Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Select high-value merchandise for ecommerce and supply stores with steady inventory.
Test items to confirm functionality or authenticity prior to posting (e.g., electronics, jewelry).
Use third-party research software (Terapeak); listing/shipping software (SureDone, ShipStation).
Assist with photography of items for sale to be displayed on the auction website.
Handle phone and email customer support in a timely manner.
Follow up on all orders with customers in real time.
Meet daily posting quotas and sales targets.
Partner with District Sales Manager and team in day-to-day ecommerce operations.

The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program to assist men & women in their journey to complete our rehabilitation program. We are grateful for the contributions our valued employees make toward the maintenance and effectiveness of the programs. As our enthusiastic and hardworking ECOMMERCE ASSOCIATE, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

Selecting high valued merchandise located at ARC Center to sell on ecommerce platform and supply physical stores with steady supply of collectible merchandise.
Testing items to confirm functionality or authenticity prior to posting (e.g., electronics, jewelry).
Basic understanding of third-party research software, Tera peak; including the ability to use listing and shipping software, Sure Done, Ship Station.
Ability to use listing and shipment software at a fast pace.
Assisting with photography of items for sale to be displayed on auction website.
Handling phone and emailing customer support in a timely manner.
Following up on all orders with customers in real time.
Meeting daily posting quotas and weekly and monthly sales targets determined by Supervisor.
Taking an active role and partnering with the District Sales Manager, E-Commerce Specialist Associate, and team members in the day-to-day operation of the ecommerce business.

Qualifications to be considered for this position:

High School graduate or equivalent.
Demonstrated competency in skill area as indicated by verifiable training and/or experience.
Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Physical Demands

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and move heavy objects such as household and office furniture, packages, and all other bulk items.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.

Schedule

Our stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and any contractual obligations relative to COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff, if required. The Salvation Army will consider requests for exemptions from any such requirements on either religious or medical grounds when available.
