Job summary

Irving ISD is seeking a Dyslexia Interventionist to support students district-wide. You will implement research-based interventions, monitor progress, and collaborate with campus principals and the Dyslexia Coordinator.

The role requires Texas teaching certification with Special Education and a strong commitment to literacy, professional development, and family communication. 187-day calendar; available through a Chapter 21 contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and valid Texas Teaching Certificate with Special Education certification.
• Generalist or Reading Certification preferred; M.Ed. in Reading or Dyslexia Therapist preferred.
• Knowledge of dyslexia research and evidence-based reading interventions.
• Ability to coach staff and present professional development.
• Experience with 504/ARD meetings and parent communication.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students with dyslexia using effective instructional strategies.
• Develop a positive learning environment aligned with state and district standards.
• Progress monitor and record student performance accurately.
• Organize instructional models meeting district dyslexia standards.
• Provide training to staff on dyslexia instruction and research-based practices.
• Participate in 504/ARD meetings and communicate with families.
• Engage in professional development aligned with district goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
