Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. in the United States (New York - Guilderland) is seeking a Distribution Supervisor to lead a warehouse team, ensuring staffing, training, safety, and patient deliveries.

The role emphasizes implementing department procedures and meeting productivity standards. The position offers a 2nd shift (2 PM–12 AM) with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Have 2 years distribution warehouse experience, preferably in the grocery industry.
• Experience leading large numbers of warehouse staff with hiring, training, motivating and resolving employee relations issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Direct and motivate teammates.
• Communicate company and division information to teammates.
• Address teammate concerns and problems.
• Facilitate communication within the warehouse leadership team and between division/warehouse leadership and teammates.
• Understand DC goals and standards, implement procedures to meet those standards, and promote them to teammates.
• Ensure procedures cut unnecessary costs and improve morale.
• Ensure the work environment is safe and clean per standards.
• Supervise and manage daily work of department teammates.
• Create and maintain schedules and job assignments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork.
• Provide training and coaching for teammates.
• Enforce all Distribution Center policies and provide coaching as needed.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures.
• Be a visible safety advocate.
• Relieve other supervisors during vacations.
• Be trained and certified to operate required equipment within 30 days.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet changing needs.
• Work in warm and cold temperatures as required.
• Other duties may be assigned.
