Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced team. You will assist providers with exams, take vitals, administer medications, perform phlebotomy, and support front desk operations in a high-access care environment.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork, and adherence to safety and clinical protocols within our Woodbridge, VA clinics. Prior MA training and certification are preferred, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; AND approved MA training program.
• OR: unapproved MA training program AND national certification (CMA/AMT/CCMA).
• Other MA education or experience may be considered upon review.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams, patient vitals, and procedures under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and urine collection for testing.
• May perform splinting, casting and sports physicals.
• Notifies provider of unusual patient occurrences and safety concerns.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and other clinic operations.
• Support front office reception as needed.
• Ensure compliance with lab policies and accreditation requirements.
