Job summary

Choosecolumbusga is seeking a Substitute Teacher for the Early Head Start program. When the regular teacher is away, you take full responsibility for the classroom, implement daily lesson plans, and support staff to ensure smooth operation.

You will organize learning centers, manage behavior with positive approaches, recruit volunteers, attend trainings, keep classrooms clean, and advocate for Head Start families and children. Some duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.
• CDA certificate or AA in ECE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements daily lesson plans and daily schedules.
• Organizes and maintains learning centers within the classroom.
• Maintains order by using positive approaches to behavior management.
• Recruits volunteers and solicits in-kind contributions.
• Attends meetings, trainings and workshop as required.
• Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and adjoining restrooms.
• Serves as an advocate for the Head Start Program, families and children.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
