ENRICHMENT SERVICES PROGRAM INCORPORATED is seeking a Substitute Teacher in Edgewood, GA to assume full classroom responsibilities in the absence of the lead teacher. This seasonal role supports daily schedules and classroom activities within a Head Start setting.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with preference for CDA or AA in ECE and at least one year of childcare experience. Vehicle access and current CDA/AA in ECE are expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or GED.
  • At least one year experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.
  • CDA certificate or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.

  • Organizes and maintains learning centers within the classroom.
  • Maintains order by using positive approaches to behavior management.
  • Recruits volunteers and solicits in‑kind contributions.

  • Serves as an advocate for the Head Start Program, families and children.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

Substitute Teacher assumes the full role and responsibilities of the Teacher in his/her absence, provides support to regular classroom staff for the establishment, maintenance and management of all classroom activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Certificates / Licenses / Registration

The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to twenty‑five (25) pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
