Job summary

Family Dollar is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards and safety.

The role requires strong communication and the ability to lead store associates in a fast-paced environment. The position emphasizes opening/closing procedures, inventory control, loss prevention, and maintaining clean, well-stocked store areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain store cleanliness and stock areas to company standards
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention
• Maintain areas of the store, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies
