Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months college coursework or equivalent training in Tourism/ Hospitality, Communications, Recreation or related field.
• Some experience working in the community.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to use computer registration and reservation systems and various computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementation of special event programs including planning, purchasing supplies, maintaining inventory, and on-site support.
• Assist in promotion and marketing of special events.
• Maintain databases for event promotion outlets, participants, sponsors, and partners.
• Provide excellent customer service to attendees, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Take registrations, collect fees, and maintain budget records using registration systems.
• Produce event recap reports and provide administrative support as needed.
• Be available for flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
