Job summary

Midland Independent School District seeks a Special Education Teacher to support students with varied needs in the Special Services department. You will collaborate with ARD teams to develop and implement individualized education plans, differentiate instruction, and monitor student progress to maximize learning outcomes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with parents, staff, and administrators, maintaining compliant documentation, implementing TEA guidelines, and fostering a positive classroom

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid teaching certificate for the subject/grade level assigned; Special Education certified.
• Eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through TEA approval.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Collaborate with parents and staff to develop IEPs through the ARD process.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans with written preparation evidence.
• Plan lessons with accommodations for individual student differences.
• Present material per TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Use varied instructional techniques and media to fit student needs.
• Monitor progress and adjust materials for differentiated instruction.
• Maintain student-centered discipline and effective classroom management.
