Job summary

Qualifications

• GA certification in the appropriate field required
• Bachelor's degree in education from PSC-approved college or university required
• Experience in teaching preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and/or specially designed instruction to students in special programs per IEP
• Consult with classroom teachers and administrators to develop academic and behavioral plans
• Participate as an active faculty member, sharing duties
• Conduct in-service programs on special education and IDEA basics
• Collaborate with regular educators to support students with disabilities in general classrooms
• Develop long- and short-term instructional objectives
• Analyze student work and assessments to determine instructional needs
• Prepare written lesson plans to support AKS objectives
• Plan appropriate assessment of student learning
• Oversee assessment activities and interpret results to parents and teachers
• Communicate learning objectives clearly to students
• Organize content for presentation in logical sequence
• Utilize research-based instructional strategies and feedback
