Job summary

Lancaster County Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Recreation Associate to support daily operations at assigned facilities. You will deliver strong customer service, assist with rentals, and help run after-school programs, athletics, and special events.

The role requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends, and emphasizes a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for visitors and participants across programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• CPR/AED certification (or obtained within 30 days of employment).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer phones, and assist with inquiries regarding programs, services, rentals, and payments.
• Schedule and manage facility rentals for events, including setup and breakdown.
• Support special events, including registration, logistics, and participant engagement.
• Provide hands-on support during summer camps and full-day programs.
• Assist in managing athletic programs: scheduling games, registering participants, and providing on-site coordination.
• Ensure safety and positive behavior management during all program activities.
• Assist with marketing facility events and services to the community.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, participants, and parents.
• Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory training.
