Job summary

Pasco County seeks a Recreation Coordinator to develop, organize, and coordinate recreation opportunities, programs, and events for a multipurpose Recreation Complex/Community Center.

The role includes supervising seasonal staff and volunteers, assisting with publicity and marketing, and building partnerships with community groups to stimulate participation and ensure safe, well-run facilities. Weekend or evening work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field with 1 year paid experience
• Associate degree with 3 years paid experience in recreation programming
• High school diploma with 5 years paid experience in recreation programming with 1 year lead/supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Develops, staffs, schedules, equips, supervises and evaluates recreation programs, camps and events.
• Assists with publicity/marketing and community outreach to boost participation.
• Supervises seasonal staff and volunteers and coordinates program implementation.
• Maintains records, reports and effective working relationships with participants and partners.
