Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is seeking a proactive Recreation Specialist to plan, organize, and deliver diverse programs for youth, adults, and seniors at Albemarle Road Recreation Center. You will support after-school and summer activities, and build partnerships with the community.

The role requires a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends, and prior experience in community recreation is preferred.

Qualifications

• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS include experience in recreation programming areas (Athletics, Summer Camp, Fitness, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in a variety of individual and team sports.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and evaluate programs in a recreation center or park facility.
• Provide customer service and handle registrations, information requests, and rentals.
• Ensure safety and administer first aid when necessary; enforce rules and regulations.
