Job summary

College of the Desert seeks a part-time adjunct instructor to participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that support student growth and the college's mission.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction, developing syllabi, evaluating students, and maintaining records across Palm Desert and other campus sites. Classes may be day, evening, or weekend; in-person teaching expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience.
• Associate degree and six years of professional experience.
• Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students.

Responsibilities

• Meet classes at scheduled day and times; deliver instruction per official course outline.
• Develop and distribute a written syllabus for each course with objectives, grading criteria, and policies.
• Evaluate student progress and communicate results; assign grades per policy and Ed Code.
• Submit grade reports and other required forms in a timely and accurate manner.
