Job summary

College of the Desert is seeking a part-time HVAC Instructor (Adjunct) to teach courses in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating. Classes may be held at the Palm Desert Campus or other assigned sites within the district, with day, evening, or weekend scheduling.

The adjunct will develop syllabi, manage coursework, and assess student progress in alignment with COD's standards. The position is under the Office of Instruction within the Desert Community College District, with compensation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 2 years of professional experience, or Associate degree with 6 years of professional experience.
• Professional experience required when the applicant has a master's degree.

Responsibilities

• Meet classes and labs on assigned days and times.
• Develop and implement HVAC instruction consistent with the course outline.
• Prepare and provide a written syllabus communicating course objectives, grading criteria, and policies.
• Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback and grades.
• Assist with curriculum development and participate in department activities as needed.
