Job summary

The College of the Desert invites applications for adjunct instructors to plan, implement and evaluate courses that support student growth and the college’s mission. Classes may be held at the Palm Desert Campus or other local sites, with day, evening or weekend offerings across multiple locations.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction, developing syllabi, evaluating progress, advising, and participating in curriculum and professional development.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to plan, implement and evaluate courses in alignment with district policies.
• Sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of students.

Responsibilities

• Meet classes/lab on scheduled days.
• Develop and implement instruction consistent with course outlines and schedules.
• Develop and distribute first-week syllabus communicating objectives, grading criteria and policies.
• Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback on grades.
• Advise and participate in curriculum development and professional development activities.
