Qualifications

• Associate degree from a school/college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Current New Mexico licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI).
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology.
• Maintenance and operation of physical therapy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge to provide services based on criteria for the assigned population.
• Maintains required core competencies and policy compliance.
• Delivers treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Interacts professionally with patients and families; participates in plan of care.
• Delivers safe and efficacious modalities and communicates observations to the team.
• Maintains documentation promptly and accurately.
