Job summary

Sterling Therapy Providers is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to organize and conduct physical therapy programs within the facility, promoting independence and functional recovery. The role involves directing patient participation in targeted tasks to restore gait, mobility, strength, and balance, while ensuring safety and quality care.

You will collaborate with the rehabilitation team, tailor treatment plans to individual needs, supervise support staff, and participate in care conferences.

Qualifications

• Good organizational skills and time management abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the State.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates residents, develops treatment goals, implements the PT plan, and maintains documentation.
• Designs and fits adaptive devices and trains residents in their use including orthotics/prosthetics.
• Selects physical agent modalities suited to individual needs and diagnoses.
• Consults with rehabilitation team to choose appropriate regimens.
• Instructs residents in mobility skills and evaluates progress and attitudes.
• Adapts programs to individual resident needs.
• Promotes safety and enforces hazards elimination.
• Attends resident care meetings and staffing conferences.
• Supervises supportive personnel per standards.
• Conducts training for staff in PT techniques and objectives.
• Orders supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Maintains and reports on equipment condition.
• Ensures residents and families receive high-quality service in a compassionate atmosphere.
