Graybar Electric Company, Inc. seeks an Outside Sales Representative to grow our electrical product sales in a specialized market, visiting customers at their sites and managing ongoing accounts. You will drive revenue, promote our products, and support customers with timely service.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in the field, strong negotiation and sales skills, and the ability to travel extensively, including overnights. A four-year degree is preferred, with a focus on business and marketing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience required; 4+ years preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in assigned territory.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed and suggest new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records and assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Participate in training, trade shows, and sales meetings.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
