Job summary

The Franklin Group in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a Leasing Consultant to show and lease apartments and support the community's marketing plan. This hourly, non-exempt role reports to the Community Manager.

You will assist applicants with rental applications, maintain model and target apartments, stay aware of current rates and policies, and provide courteous service. Salary range is $13.00–$24.75 per hour, with final offers based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; ability to write routine reports.
• Ability to calculate figures, discounts, proportions, percentages.
• Fair Housing must be completed within 14 days of hire; CAM/RAM designations are recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist applicants in completing rental applications and collect security deposits.
• Ensure model and target apartments are ready for show; maintain clean work areas and office.
• Know lease terms, policies, and required sales techniques; understand Fair Housing standards.
• Maintain contact with apartment locator services and local businesses; keep information updated.
• Develop and maintain resident retention programs and keep resident files up to date.
