Job summary

City National Bank of Florida is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator in the Coral Gables area to lead conforming loan production and advise customers on mortgage options. The role relies on building referrals from real estate agents, builders, relocation services, and past clients while driving growth beyond the retail branch network.

The position demands strong communication, adherence to state and federal mortgage regulations, and the ability to work independently to meet sales targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 2-4 years of mortgage sales experience.
• Thorough understanding of underwriting criteria and guidelines.
• Knowledgeable in Federal and State regulations for Mortgage and Home Equity lending.
• Strong knowledge of conforming loan programs, products, and industry regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Strong computer skills and competence in Microsoft Office.
• Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Responsibilities

• Consistently meets and exceeds individual and/or team sales goals, including but not limited to deposit, loans and other, as applicable.
• Increase conforming loan applications through marketing and generating referrals from centers of influence, previous customers and client referrals.
• Introduce their self-sourced customers to other lines of business within the bank.
• Drive business development outside of retail branch network through real estate agents, homebuilders, relocation services, cold calling, etc.
• Meets the requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act and expected to follow procedures including notifying Human Resources of any changes in current status.
