Job summary

Provident Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate residential loans by actively prospecting centers of influence and cold calling. You will travel to client sites and branches to build relationships and drive loan growth while meeting annual origination goals.

The role requires experience in mortgage lending, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple programs (FHA, USDA, conventional). Compensation is commission-based with performance incentives and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with focused skill training or on-the-job education.
• 3 years’ experience as a residential mortgage loan originator with established business contacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivation to meet and drive sales targets.
• Ability to develop meaningful relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
• Intermediate knowledge of business technology, including mortgage loan operating systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generates loans through prospecting and following up on leads.
• Initiates loan applications by internet, phone, in person, fax or email.
• Submits new loan applications with supporting documents for processing and credit decisioning.
• Maintains referral sources with regular sales calls and branch visits.
• Develops realtor contacts and lending business in targeted census tracts.
• Keeps up-to-date on housing programs and investor guidelines.
• Participates in events and training; may include evenings/weekends.
