Job summary

Independent Bank is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgages and grow the business through local relationships. You will report to the Area Mortgage Sales Manager and drive community involvement to support homeownership goals.

The role emphasizes networking, customer service, and cross-department collaboration to offer additional bank products. This position is central to delivering on the bank’s mission and growth strategy.

Qualifications

• Proven networking and relationship-building skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's preferred.
• 3+ years of sales experience, real estate mortgage loans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Solicit residential mortgages through realtors, builders and community involvement.
• Interview borrowers to determine best programs based on income, assets and credit.
• Assist borrowers with applications using Blend and Encompass.
• Ensure documents are uploaded to complete loan applications for underwriting.
• Price and lock rates; monitor lock expiration; coordinate with operations.
• Introduce borrowers to other banking products when appropriate.
• Network to build relationships and participate in community events.
