Job summary

Regions Bank in Charleston, SC is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans through a branch network.

You will complete applications, evaluate requests, communicate progress, and ensure compliance with regulations while building external referral partnerships.

This commission-based role offers uncapped earning potential and requires NMLS registration; experience with sales and customer service is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of mortgage lending experience with proven production.
• Experience developing external business via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners).

Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to loan processing and underwriting.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history.
• Maintains contact with loan customers, providing progress updates and requesting necessary documents.
• Structures loans to comply with lending practices and Federal regulations.
• Establishes and executes detailed marketing plans with realtors, builders, developers, etc., and maintains contact frequency.
• Answers customer calls and in-person inquiries about loan products and qualification information.
• Makes sales calls to develop new business or retain existing customers per Regions plan.
• Cross-sells other bank products and services.
• Reads surveys and appraisals, and addresses encroachments and violations.
• Participates in networking to promote loan products.
