Job summary

Pacific College seeks a dedicated Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our LVN/VN program team serving Costa Mesa, Santa Fe Springs, and Ontario campuses. You will teach theory, skills lab, and/or clinical experiences, mentoring students toward becoming competent nursing professionals.

We value ongoing, long-term teaching relationships and continuing education to support student growth across all learning environments, including weekend sessions and travel to off-site facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or higher; LVN acceptable with RN/LVN license.
• Minimum of two years’ nursing (RN or LVN) experience in the past five years.
• BSN preferred.
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) with a minimum of six years’ RN experience.
• Must demonstrate competency teaching adult learners.
• Previous experience teaching in a vocational nursing program at a college is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction blending nursing theory with hands-on practice across adult, pediatric, obstetrics and geriatric care.
• Teach and support students in classroom, skills lab and clinical settings with an inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise, coach and evaluate student performance while ensuring patient safety and quality standards.
• Provide timely feedback to support student growth and course progression.
• Maintain accurate records including attendance and evaluations in LMS.
• Review course materials using LMS to strengthen learning outcomes.
• Mentor students through classroom and clinical supervision to promote professionalism.
• Collaborate with program leadership and faculty for a consistent student experience across learning environments.
• Support clinical coordination including placement and accreditation compliance.
• Review student documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Participate in faculty meetings and ongoing professional development.
• Theory instructors commit to weekday teaching; Clinical/Skills Lab instructors may include weekend sessions and off-site travel.
