Job summary

Akron-Summit County Public Library in Akron, OH is seeking a Public Service Assistant II at the Kenmore Branch for full-time 37.5 hours weekly, including evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays at Main Library in Downtown Akron.

You will greet customers, assist with materials, answer reference questions, help with library technology, and perform standard routines such as circulation, shelving, and desk coverage to support a welcoming, informative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework or an Associate’s degree.
• Knowledge of Library materials, programs and services.
• Ability to use a computer and library databases.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers at the service desk.
• Assists customers in selecting and using library materials.
• Answers reference questions and guides to resources.
• Assists users with library technology and databases.
• Performs circulation, shelving, and other routine desk duties.
• Maintains supplies and performs clerical tasks.
