Job summary

YMCA San Antonio is seeking an energetic Group Fitness Instructor to lead engaging, safe, and inclusive group classes at our wellness facility. You will welcome participants of all levels, adapt activities to meet individual needs, and help members pursue healthy living and social connection.

Candidates should have at least one year of group fitness instruction experience, current national certification in group fitness, and the ability to maintain equipment and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience instructing group wellness classes is preferred.
• Knowledge of group exercise equipment, sound systems, and cardio/strength training.
• Effective interpersonal skills for facilitating group interaction and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, and educational group fitness classes as directed by the supervisor.
• Answer member questions and support goal achievement related to healthy living.
• Build genuine relationships and foster community among members and staff.
• Observe and adapt classes to meet diverse needs and abilities.
• Maintain class attendance records and stay current with certifications.
