Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a Healthy Lifestyles Instructor to lead engaging group exercise classes in a safe, positive environment. You will teach skills specific to each course design while promoting member wellness and ensuring safety for all participants.

You will greet members, plan sessions across various fitness areas, and provide support, motivation, and guidance to help individuals achieve their healthy living goals.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Foundations of YMCA Group Exercise or equivalent (ACE, AFAA, or ACSM Health Fitness Instructor).
• Equivalent certification accepted via equivalency provision.

Responsibilities

• Instruct group exercise classes safely and effectively in one or more fitness areas.
• Greet members by name and foster welcoming, engaging environment.
• Set up, monitor and maintain equipment; ensure safety and policy adherence.
• Record attendance and participate in staff meetings/trainings.
• Provide guidance and motivation to help members achieve healthy living goals.
