Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to promote fitness and wellness through the YMCA Group Exercise program with a commitment to serving the general population in their pursuit of health and well-being.

Responsibilities include delivering energizing, safe classes, maintaining equipment, attending trainings, reporting incidents within 24 hours, and coordinating substitutes when needed. CPR/First Aid and national certifications are required, plus experience teaching group fitness.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid and AED; National Certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise Certification
• Attend and complete Orientation in Healthy Living at the Y within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe group fitness classes aligned with YMCA goals
• Maintain equipment and ensure rooms are in proper order
• Attend staff trainings and meetings and report incidents within 24 hours
• Arrange substitutes when unable to facilitate a class
• Follow class formats from start to end as designed
