Job summary

Gold's Gym in San Antonio, TX seeks an enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructor to lead and motivate members in a respectful, energetic environment. You will deliver classes per approved formats, ensure safety, and educate members on fitness concepts while maintaining sound equipment and a clean space.

The ideal candidate holds a current CPR/AED and first aid certificate, 6+ months of group class teaching, and a recognized group fitness certification (ACE/AFAA/ACSM).

Qualifications

• Current hands-on CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training is required.
• Minimum of six months teaching in a group exercise environment.
• Maintain nationally recognized Group fitness certification by ACE, AFAA, ACSM.
• Provide verifiable proof of specialized skill/training such as Yoga, Pilates, Body Pump, Body Attack, etc.
• Knowledge of choreography, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm in class formats.
• High energy and physical fitness to sustain workouts.
• Strong interpersonal communication and motivational leadership.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment.

Responsibilities

• Leads and delivers group fitness classes based on industry standards and approved formats that begin and end promptly.
• Instructs participants on effective workout methods; explains techniques and modifications.
• Maintains a motivating atmosphere with clear verbal cues and appropriate music tempo.
• Coaches participants to achieve fitness goals and monitors for signs of injury or overexertion.
• Interacts with participants, orients new members, and gathers feedback to improve participation.
• Ensures correct form and offers modifications for all fitness levels.
• Represents Gold's Gym professionally and adheres to dress and conduct standards.
• Schedules substitutes to avoid cancellations and ensures classes run as posted.
• Operates audio equipment and maintains equipment hygiene and readiness.
